A great story I got through email.
The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions.
One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the
worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, ‘God! How could you do this to me?’
Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! ‘How did you know I was here?’ asked the weary man of his rescuers. ‘We saw your smoke signal,’ they replied.
The Moral of This Story?
It’s easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn’t lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering.
Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground. It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.

The Lighthouse of Alexandria is the seventh wonder of the ancient world. A tower built in the 3rd century BC (between 285 and 247 BC) on the island of Pharos in Alexandria, Egypt, to serve as that port’s landmark, and later, its lighthouse. During this time, this may be the tallest building that is why it was identified as one of the seven wonders of the Ancient world by Antipater of Sidon. The lighthouse was finally completed in 3rd century BC. Its ruins were discovered by divers in Autumn of 1994. These were discovered on the floor of Alexandria’s Eastern Harbour. So this just proved that this definitely exists.

It looks really Ancient and it seems like it doesn’t really exist but the Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek god Helios, erected in the city of Rhodes on the Greek island of Rhodes by Chares of Lindos between 292 and 280 BC. This is the sixth wonder of the ancient world. Before its destruction, the Colossus of Rhodes stood over 30 meters (107 ft) high. This is one of the tallest statues of the ancient world.

The fifth wonder of the Ancient world is called the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus or popularly known as the Tomb of Mausolus. It was a tomb built between 353 and 350 BC at Halicarnassus (present Bodrum, Turkey) for Mausolus, a satrap in the Persian Empire, and Artemisia II of Caria, his wife and sister. Based on the photo, it looks like this tomb is huge! If you see the mausoleums nowadays, this would be twice as big as the ones now. No wonder this is part of the wonders of the ancient world. Here are more details from Wikipedia.
Artemisia spared no expense in building the tomb. She sent messengers to Greece to find the most talented artists of the time. These included Scopas, the man who had supervised the rebuilding of the temple of Artemis at Ephesus. The famous sculptors were (in the Vitruvius order) Leochares, Bryaxis, Scopas and Timotheus, as well as hundreds of other craftsmen.

If you don’t know Artemis, he was a Greek Goddess, the virginal huntress and twin of Apollo, who supplanted the Titan Selene as goddess of the Moon. This sounds very ancient indeed and no wonder it doesn’t exist anymore. Here are more details.
The Temple of Artemis was located near the ancient city of Ephesus, about 50 km south from the modern port city of İzmir, in Turkey. Today the site lies on the edge of the modern town of Selçuk. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus was destroyed on July 21, 356 BC in an act of arson committed by Herostratus. According to the story, his motivation was fame at any cost, thus the term herostratic fame.
