Great Barrier Reef.

Another part of the seven wonders of the natural world is the Great Barrier Reef. It is the largest reef system in the whole world. I would imagine how beautiful it is when you see the reef composed of over 2,900 individual reefs. It has 900 islands stretching for over 2,600 kilometres (1,600 mi) over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometres (133,000 sq mi). Very impressive. Just by looking at this photo makes me really appreciate the beauty of this reef.

The reef is actually located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia. Would you believe that this can be seen from outer space and is considered as the world’s biggest single structure made by living organisms? It is now one of the important parts of the world so a large part of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. They help limit the impact of human use, such as fishing and tourism.
