Grand Ways to Take Care of Men’s Shirts.
By admin On July 28th, 2010You spend a great deal of your budget on clothing. Clothing is often time considered an investment and should be cared for as such. Proper care and clean of everything from suits to men’s shirts to slacks is important. Below are some few tips that will help keep your clothing well cared for.
• Always check the care tag! If it says “Dry Clean Only,” do just that! The same applies for those tags that instruct that the garment be hand washed.
• Sort your clothing to avoid color bleeds. Nothing is more frustrating than having your whites turn blue or red or even pink. Wash darks and light colored garments separately and whites should always be done alone.
• Unbutton your garments before washing. This reduces wear and tear and allows a better cleaning cycle. Pull the sleeves out of the armholes, don’t have one leg inside out, and your socks should not be in balls.
• 100 percent cotton clothing may shrink if placed in the dryer. To maintain the fit of your clothes, these garments should be air-dried.
• If you remove clothing from the dryer immediately, you will reduce the need for ironing. Many new dryers have a wrinkle release cycle which can also help cut down on ironing.
• If your clothing had stains, make sure they were completely removed during the wash cycle before tossing it into the dryer. The heat from dryers will set the stain and make it very difficult, if not impossible, to remove.
• Do not use bleach on fragile materials or clothing made of wool or silk. When adding bleach to the wash, add it to the wash water. If bleach is poured directly on clothing you may end up with bleach blotches.
With these quick tips, you’ll be able to ensure that your clothing investment maintains a great appearance for a long time.
